Dr. Susan McQuiston has accepted an instructor's position in the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Program. She started on May 14, 2009, and will be teaching several hematology labs, transplant and transfusion labs, and introduction to CLS principles. This position will share in the advising duties for BLD majors.
McQuiston graduated from Michigan State University in 1979 with a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology. She earned a masters degree in Clinical Science with an immunology focus from San Francisco State University in 1994. In 2001, she earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco with an emphasis in intellectual properties. She holds several certifications including Medical Technology - ASCP and is a member of the California Bar and the United States patent bar.
Her office is located in 311 North Kedzie Hall. She enjoys motorcycling, the outdoors, and she has a dog and a cat. She is new to the Lansing area and is enthusiastic about joining the Department and looks forward to meeting the students and their families. Susan is the faculty advisor to the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Student Association (BLDSA) and is the coordinator of the statewide match system.
In 2011, at the annual meeting of the Michigan Association of Laboratory Science Educators (MALSE), she was named president elect of MALSE for 2012. |
